John's father, Isaac, is a mountain-dwelling recluse who abandoned him at birth. Now, years later, John comes back seeking answers. 

What happens when the people we love fail to be who we need them to be? Reeling Isaac is a dramatic short film that follows a young man named John as he sets out for the first time to meet his estranged biological father, Isaac. Compelled by his desire to invite Isaac to his upcoming wedding, John forays deep into the mountains to Isaac’s humble cabin where he’s met with an unexpected welcome. John begins to feel what it might have been like to have a father, but can one (fateful/truthful) encounter make up for decades of missed moments? That’s for John to decide.
